Live Music Week of February 25 to March 3, 2013

Standard

2/25/13    8 off 8th Road To Bonnaroo featuring Alanna Royale     Mercy Lounge

Alanna kicks butt in the vocal department and this weekly event is always a good place to discover new bands.  It’s also free so you can’t complain you didn’t get your money’s worth!

2/26/13    San Rafael Band     Sambuca

I have not seen this band in a few years but they were so much fun when I booked them at Cafe Coco back in the day and besides any chance you get to hang out in a venue that has the decor I describe as being, “gothic boudoir,”  you should take the opportunity.

2/27/13    Dave Peterson     Station Inn

Mr. Peterson has been around this town for quite awhile and is well known as being an excellent musician who puts on a great show.  So if you are hankering for some “real deal” country music and memories of yesteryear head on down to the Station Inn and go ahead and get yourself a pizza too. It’s pretty darn yummy for bar pizza.

2/28/13    Birdcloud      Mad Donna’s

Okay, these ladies did some nice things for a charity I support recently so I wanted to give them a shout out however, I just listened to their video at the above link and I don’t think they have to be nice… they are brilliant. Probably not for everyone so check ’em out first.

3/1/13      Buddy Miller and Jim Lauderdale     Cannery Ballroom

I don’t have to say anything about this show.  Buddy…Jim…it’s not my favourite room in town at all but…just GO!

3/2/13          Ivories Lounge     Holiday Inn

Okay, so this is so not something I would usually recommend but I went there last Saturday and had a blast. The band, of course, was full of great Nashville musicians but the people watching was out of this world.  It was one of the cutest places I have ever been in Nashville. Trust me, open your mind have a margarita (oh but be prepared to get your own water) and spend a little time on the dance floor.

3/3/13     The Delta Saints     3rd and Lindsley

My first choice is Tristan Prettyman at Mercy however these guys are great too…excellent venue, lousy food! Blah, blah blah.
